IPS team is the best in the north

A year of massive change for the gas specialists at Isos Property Services has been rewarded with a prestigious award win.

The 22-strong gas servicing team has been named as Installer of the Year for the north of England at the annual Corgi Awards - the highest prizes available in the industry.

John McKernan, head of property and building services, and Norman Liddle, contracts manager have led the heating team through huge upheaval this year to make the change from Milecastle Building Services to Isos Property Services, expanding from seven staff to 22.

The gas business has grown across the North East by extending the service it previously provided for the 2,400 gas fired homes within Milecastle Housing in Tynedale, to now work on the near 12,000 properties within the parent company Isos Housing Group. The team now covers the entire region from Stockton in the south to Berwick in the north.

And now the team has won the recognition their efforts deserve, by taking home one of the top prizes from an awards dinner attended by over 1,000 gas industry workers at Coventry City's Ricoh Arena in the West Midlands.

Norman Liddle, contracts manager for Isos Property Services, said: "We are so proud to have won this award. When I was starting out in the industry, I never thought I would be picking up a prize at such an important event.

"I'm delighted that our team here have been recognised for the excellent work they do every day of the week.
"It's not often we are in the spotlight so it's really great when it does happen."

Bill Tebay, managing director of Milecastle Housing, who was a driving force behind the creation of Isos Property Services, said: "This award is well deserved, and recognises not only what IPS has done this year, but the way the team has developed over the years. They were runners up last year, and now they have their moment in the spotlight."
